Unattended guitar isn't stolen in Toronto

The entire staff of Oblogatory visited Toronto over the Thanksgiving holiday. We went to the St. Lawrence Market and saw that a busker had left his or her guitar and backpack sitting at the entrance.

We left after about an hour of browsing the deliciousness. The guitar was still there. Untouched. Unstolen.

If I had to sum up in one sentence the difference between Austin and Toronto, I’d say, “In Toronto, you can leave your guitar leaning on a chair in a public place without having it stolen in the first five minutes.”

And that says a lot.
